Animals

Our new dairy goats have arrived.

In Dec 2009 our new dairy goats arrived. This is after a 10 year break from having a pair of Toggenburg boy Twins.

Their new Girls kids arrived in Nov while we were away so Roxy had a boy & Evie had triplets 2 girls and a boy.

Both the older girls are 3 year old being-

Our new Llamas

In 2008 we purchased 2 new Llamas, their names are Edwardo & Milo, they join Miso who has lived here since  2001.  These boys are all fixed as our experience with Intact males( an Alpaca) is not a good one, unless you intent to use them for breeding.

Alpaca Vs Llama's

As part of our research Silvia and I joined both the Alpaca & Llama associations, by attending open days and other events we got good first hand knowledge we also got to see good animals and poor ones with conformation issues, we also looked at the conditions of the properties these animals came from ie. Pasture, weeds & manure piles.

Our Sheep Varieties

Here we have 3 breeds of sheep.

Our black sheep are Romney X Border Leister- these are for Grass mowing, meat and wool for spinning.
