Our first Public Open day will be on Sunday 27th of September.
Since I completed the Permacuture Design for the property in 1995, Telopea Mtn Permaculture Nursery has become home to many hundreds of varieties of fruiting trees and plants, these have been continualy planted for the 15 years we have been here.
With a history of around 107 years as a cut flower farm, orchard and nursery this small farm has mature plantings around the house that are aprox 100 years old with a Myrtle Beech believed to be around 250+ years old.
Since we became only the third owner of this space (after the traditional owners of this land) we have fenced the property to house our rare and interesting animals, with rare breeds chooks, geese & ducks , Plus Llamas, milking sheep & black ones for fleece we are waiting on the arrival of our new milking goats soon who are both due to kid in November.
Half of` our 100 year old shed has been converted ready for use partly as a "Farm shop" when our nursery finally opens on a Friday, plus a new larger space for our many classes and workshops we run here, our studio will now be used to run the cheese courses and SLY GROG workshops and accomodation for WWoofers in the near future.
Opening times will be from 10am- 5pm on the day with guided tours of the zone 1, 2 & 3 veggie gardens running at 11am and 2pm, this will include the orchards and animals and will run for 1.5-2hrs each.
Entry to the nursery area will be free with 100's of fruiting plants, books and other items available for sale, plus Permaculture Design & Rare breed displays in the shed
Tours tickets will be sold in the shop and will cost $12 for adults and $30 for a family ticket.
You will find us in Invermay Rd Monbulk, just off the Olinda - Monbulk Rd
